Last year my blog was about living happily and I wrote a post about a song called "Sin miedo" (that's "without fear" to you and me). I included this song on my blog because it talks about how we have a chance to be happy if we life without fear.
I had forgotten about it until the song came on the radio last Sunday while I was driving towards Teguise.

This particular song I'm talking about was a huge success when I was younger, before I left my country. I vaguely remembered that the artist, Rosana, came from the Canary Islands. Little did I know she is actually a native of Lanzarote, the paradise island I decided to move to when moving back to my country after living abroad for 14 years!!!! I get goosebumps when I watch the video of the song as I recognise some of the spots and landscapes of the place that proudly now I call home.
Here is my loose translation of the lyrics of her song:
WITHOUT FEAR by Rosana
Without fear you feel you are lucky
playing with gnomes that keep you warm along the way
making every step the best your lived
it's better to live without fear
Without fear, the bad becomes good
the streets blend into the sky
and we become birds, flying over the ground, like that
without fear, if you want the start I'll tip over the sky
Dreams aren't impossible or that far
If we are like children
without fearing craziness, without fear to smile
Without fear, the waves caress the fire
if we rise high up our fingertips
on our tip-toes we can touch the universe, like that
without fear, our hands get filled with wishes
that are not impossible or that far
if we are like children
without fearing tenderness, not being afraid to be happy
